Traffic Advisory: Construction at 32nd and Market Streets

Construction mobilization has begun to reconfigure the intersections around the Firestone property at 32nd and Market streets. This work will improve pedestrian safety across Market Street and JFK Boulevard and provide a new, signalized crosswalk at Lancaster Walk. The construction is expected to continue through summer 2018. Pedestrians and motorists are advised to use caution and expect delays when traveling through affected areas.

Please be advised of the following changes to traffic patterns around the former Firestone property:

· 32nd Street: 32nd Street is closed between Market and Arch streets. Vehicles traveling southbound on N. 32nd Street will be detoured westbound on Arch Street. Northbound traffic must use 33rd Street. Pedestrians will be able to move through the area via designated pathways. Please follow posted signage.

· Market Street: Fencing will close off the sidewalk on the north side of Market Street between JFK Boulevard and 32nd Street. Pedestrians are advised to use the south side of Market Street when traveling through this area.

· JFK Boulevard: The sidewalk on the west side of JFK Boulevard will remain partially open to pedestrians.

Drexel University advises students, faculty, professional staff and visitors to expect delays and detours when traveling through the areas impacted by these events and to walk or use public transportation whenever possible. Visit the Construction and Traffic Advisories page on the Facilities website for more information and safety tips.
